Bayside Council were keen to extend their support for investing in football facilities for the community to play sport and to support the growing demand for football (soccer) in the city.

The $1.9m conversion of the natural turf soccer field at the Ador Avenue Reserve into a FIFA compliant synthetic pitch addressed this demand.

THE CHALLENGE

The site had significant spatial constraints which impacted the ease to readily achieve a FIFA preferred pitch dimension. In addition to the north of the pitch were overhead authority HV lines which impacted on the placement of the behind goal nets.

THE SOLUTION

The SPORTENG designed soccer pitch facility included:

  • Player’s and official’s benches

  • Sports lighting

  • 3m and 6m high behind goal fencing

  • Spectator viewing seats and mound

  • Perimeter pathways

  • Small sided soccer line marking

  • Goal storage areas

  • DDA access ramp from the existing pavilion

THE RESULTS

The SPORTENG designed pitch maximized the available space to achieve a pitch size that was compliant with the local Football NSW requirements.
