Hard Surface system | Netball
The Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex is a key hub for recreational and competitive sports in the City of Wanneroo.
To enhance the facility’s capacity and meet growing demand, SPORTENG was engaged to design and document 27 acrylic netball courts, complete with state-of-the-art lighting services.
The project aimed to deliver courts that meet the highest standards for performance, safety, and longevity, ensuring a positive experience for players and spectators alike.
The development of the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex presented several challenges.
The site required a thorough assessment to ensure the optimal layout and functionality of the new courts.
Existing site conditions, such as drainage, soil stability, and available space, needed to be evaluated to create a design that harmonised with the surrounding environment.
Additionally, the project required detailed design and documentation that complied with local regulations and standards while accommodating the needs of the end-users and stakeholders.
SPORTENG adopted a methodical and collaborative approach to delivering on the City of Wanneroo’s vision for the complex.
The project began with a comprehensive site inspection, during which the team reviewed existing site information and identified potential constraints and opportunities. Technical advice was provided during the concept design phase to ensure the project's foundation was robust.
Detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and an Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC), was prepared. This meticulous process ensured that every aspect of the courts, from surface material to lighting, was designed to deliver performance, durability, and safety. The tender documentation phase included detailed tender drawings, specifications, and a Bill of Quantities (BoQ), providing clarity and precision for prospective contractors.
Throughout the project, SPORTENG maintained close collaboration with the City of Wanneroo, ensuring alignment with their goals and proactively addressing any emerging challenges.
